Afford IT provides business computer support for desktops, laptops and workstations.
When one person’s machine is slow or a new starter’s laptop is not ready, the cost is not the repair bill — it is the hours a paid employee spends waiting, working around the fault or trying to fix it themselves. The aim of this service is to get people working properly again with as little disruption as possible.
- Slow computers
- Windows problems
- Application problems
- New computer setup
- Laptop configuration
- Workstation replacement

Three jobs we do most
Most business computer work falls into one of these.
A machine ready to work
New desktops and laptops configured for your business: user account, software, printers, email, files and security settings, so the person can sit down and start.
A fault found, not guessed at
Slow startup, application crashes, failing updates or a machine that will not behave. We diagnose it and tell you whether a repair makes sense or whether replacing the machine is the cheaper answer.
Old machine to new
Moving a person’s files, profile, email and software onto a replacement computer, and confirming everything they use still works before the old one is retired.
Windows 10 and ageing machines
Windows 10 reached end of support on 14 October 2025. A business computer still running it no longer receives routine security updates, and some of the software your staff rely on will eventually stop supporting it. If your machines are older than about five years, a short assessment is worthwhile before anything fails at a bad moment.
We can check which computers can run Windows 11, which should be replaced, and what order makes sense so you are not buying everything at once. Replacement is usually cheaper and calmer when it is planned than when it is forced by a failure.
Managing a fleet rather than one computer?
Supporting one or two computers reactively is straightforward. Supporting 10, 20 or 50 machines is a completely different problem.
At that point your business benefits from:
- Central device management
- Security policies
- Patch management
- Monitoring
- Standardised configurations
- Endpoint protection
- Asset management
- Automated deployment
- Helpdesk access
That’s what Defy IT is designed for.
